Typhoon Rai (Odette) was raging on 16/12/2021 and left major destruction
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Tropical storm Rai leaves a trace of devastation across the Philippines. The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Northern Mindanao (RDRRMC-10) www.ndrrmc.gov.ph updates continuously the data regarding the environmental disaster.
Our children’s village and the learning centers are not affected. However, the children and families, that we look after, of the slums in Consolasyon and other parts of the city are badly affected.

Information from Thomas Kellenberger, 20.1.2022:
Dear donors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support of our relief operations for survivors of taifun Odette. Thanks to your earmarked donations we were able to conduct the first relief operation on the severely devastated Dinagat island. There we distributed relief packs each containing 5kg of rice, 12 eggs and a hygiene pack to 500 families. Prior to their distribution the relief packs had been packed by our youth at the children’s village and delivered by our school bus (360km From Cagayan de. Oro). During the operation our staff also conducted a stress debriefing with children who had witnessed the storm.
