Island Kids Philippines can`t fulfill wishes…

…but sometimes, we can help to make wishes come true. When Armilyn dropped out of school at grade 4 to look for recyclable materials in the big open dumping site, she couldn`t imagine that one day she would graduate from college as a teacher with a master degree in science. She made it – thanks to the help of IKP and her sponsors.

About Island Kids Philippines

The two organisations Island Kids Philippines Switzerland and Germany support two interrelated foundations in the north of the Philippine Island of Mindanao. Their main focus is on the protection and individual support of child victims of human trafficking and sexual, physical and psychological abuse.

The Philippine Island Kids Int’l. Foundation, Inc. (PIKIFI) in Cagayan de Oro is convinced of the importance of charity in working with street children, children who collect recyclables and their families in the Philippines since 2007. As a state-recognised aid organisation, PIKIFI offers abused, neglected, abandoned and extremely poor children food, shelter and protection through family-like care in the children’s village. It also conveys values and gives the children real prospects for the future through a good school education and practical training leading to a university degree.

The Bata-Alima Regenerative Living Int’l. Foundation, Inc. (BARLIF) in Indulang has been practising organic, sustainable and regenerative agriculture on its own farm since 2025. This complements the work of PIKIFI by supporting the self-sufficiency of the children’s village and school, and offering its own programmes such as experiential education activities for children and young people. PIKIFI’s care work is further expanded in foster families.

The members of both support organisations work on a voluntary basis, and there is no advertising budget. As a result, there are virtually no administrative costs and the donations go directly and in full to the children supported.

Island Kids Philippines fights poverty and injustice successfully and sustainably through:

  • Full-time care for children and young people
  • Education for children, adolescents and young adults
  • Promoting, strengthening and supporting families
  • Fight against human trafficking
  • Helping people to help themselves in close cooperation with those affected
  • Emergency medical aid
  • Experiential educational activities in nature
  • Disaster relief
