Ruth Kellenberger Safe House for Women (women’s shelter)

In the course of our work for abused children and adolescents in recent years, we have repeatedly noticed that their mothers (and thus also the children, i.e. the victims themselves) are often financially or existentially dependent on the perpetrators. Due to these existential fears, the mothers often do not dare to stand by their children or to protect them from abuse and maltreatment. With the conversion of an acquired building right next to the Social Therapeutic Prevention and Intervention Centre (Alice Rose Clover Child Development Centre), a safe haven, a women’s shelter, has been created.

On the ground floor there are two rooms, each offering at least temporary shelter and protection for a mother and her children, as well as a common room with a kitchenette. PIKIFI supports the women in finding their way back to an independent and secure existence.
