Medical Service

Our medical service is a composite of service of assistance in transport, accompaniment in clinics and after care. Since 2007, PIKIFI has been aware of the unhygienic living conditions in the slums that cause many health problems and thus the need for aid. Malnutrition is common and vaccinations are insufficient. Medical assistance is an important part of PIKIFI support for the poverty-stricken communities. PIKIFI social workers try to exhaust all possible local channels for payment of medical bills, before IKP funds are used. Some of the hospital bills are rather costly.

Aside from offering financial assistance for medical emergencies, PIKIFI also campaigns for health prevention inside the community. To provide optimal help, we work in close partnership with a network consisting of doctors and other health professionals from local hospitals. Medical missions and health workshops are held at the Landfill Community Learning Center and our students are made aware of important health aspects.
