Kuya Thom goes home
Thomas Kellenberger (39), a former Bernese police officer, aims to walk the distance of 15’000 kms to raise funds for the needy children in the Philippines and to evoke awareness to the plight of children in street situations, underage victims of sexual abuse and exploitation. The funds will be used to construct a second children’s village. Thomas Kellenberger founded Island Kids Philippines (IKP) in 2007, an aid organization for children in the city of Cagayan de Oro. The present children’s village consists of two day schools that offer care and education for over 700 children, who otherwise would not have the possibility of escaping a bleak future.
